In what will be described as a surprise over the sudden change of security chiefs by president Buhari on 26th of Jan. 2021 which was announced through the official Twitter handle of the president. The surge against insecurity needs to be addressed this led to the yelling complaint of Nigerians over the poor performance of security operatives in fight against insurgence in Nigeria.
President Buhari made the announcement on 26th of Jan to replace the chiefs staff of security head with immediate effect and the affected chiefs of staff are:
Chief of army staff Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai
Chief of Air staff Marsharl Sodiq Abubakar
Chief of defense staff Gen. Abayomi Olanisakin
Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas
The replacement was made and announced immediately
While announcing the replacement of the chiefs staff president Buhari offers a thank you messages to the outgoing chiefs for their service rendered to the nation development.
I have accepted the immediate resignation of the Service Chiefs, and their retirement from service. I thank them all for their overwhelming achievements in our efforts at bringing enduring peace to Nigeria, and wish them well in their future endeavours.

While welcoming the new service chiefs Buhari urged them to take their duty as paramount seeing it as call to humanity.
He also enjoyed them to be faithful, honest and loyal to the duty they called for.
The appointment is coming after the advice giving by some concerned Nigerians to the president to replace the service chief heads to curb the insurgence
It will be recalled that over 425 were killed and murdered by bandits in some parts of northern Nigeria.
