Bournemouth beat Liverpool 1-0 in Premier League shock result – Watch Highlights

Bournemouth stunned Liverpool with a 1-0 victory in a thrilling match at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday. The Cherries put on an impressive display against the defending champions, who were left ruing missed chances.

Both teams showed a lot of attacking intent as the game got off to a frantic start. Liverpool had a number of early scoring opportunities but came up empty-handed. Meanwhile, David Brooks and Junior Stanislas of Bournemouth were dangerous on the counterattack, troubling the Liverpool defense.

The Reds suffered their eighth loss in the Premier League this season and their seventh away from home thanks to a goal from Philip Billing in the first half.
As Liverpool lost 1-0 to Bournemouth on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp was visibly upset and said, “The game was pretty much the antithesis of what we wanted to demonstrate.”
Liverpool’s biggest issue is once more revealed
Due to a recent five-game Premier League unbeaten streak, Liverpool has recently re-entered the top-four discussion.
But the fact that three of the four victories claimed during that run of results occurred while playing at Anfield says it all.
The club led by Klopp has only won three league away games all season, and today’s defeat to the team holding down the division’s bottom spot only made their dismal record worse.
Although Tottenham and Newcastle United’s chances of making the Champions League are far from dead due to their inconsistent play, they will undoubtedly need to make some progress on the road.
The Reds’ penalty curse persists
Before John Brooks pointed to the spot in the second half of this game, Liverpool had miraculously gone 33 Premier League games without winning a penalty.
For a club that spends so much time in the opposition box, that is an impressive record. But, they were slightly unlucky to get this goal because Adam Smith’s flailing arm unintentionally touched the ball.
Nevertheless, Salah’s uncharacteristically wayward shot to absolve the hosts of blame did not put a stop to the Reds’ misery from penalty kicks. Perhaps the Egyptian was simply out of practice from the spot, but the wait for a successful Liverpool penalty is destined to go on.
Back in the battle, Bournemouth Shows Up
The temptation to declare a new team’s chances of survival over every time they finished last in the Premier League existed.
Yet, Bournemouth’s victory here demonstrated the fallacy of that viewpoint and demonstrated the existence of several teams that should be keeping an eye on them.
Southampton, the club’s new lowest squad, and Crystal Palace, who are currently in 12th place, are now only six points apart.
No team in that matchup should believe they are immune to the danger of relegation this year.

87th min: A final roll of the dice for Liverpool, with Fabio Carvalho replacing Stefan Bajcetic.
80th min: Changes for Bournemouth as Fredericks, Cook and Semenyo replace Lerma, Smith and Solanke.
