The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Lateef Jakande, has died. He was 92 years old according to Wikipedia.

Late Jakande who was a journalist before became a governor has contributed a lot to the social and economy development of Lagos State during his ruling .He succeeded in bringing the Lagos to the frontier of economy attraction for the investors and international brands to invest. Jakande, a former journalist became governor of Lagos State in Nigeria from 1979 to 1983, and later was Minister of Works under the Sani Abacha military regime.
