The Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Saliu Adetunji has passed away at age 93
Oba Saliu Adetunji died an early hour ago at University College Hospital, located in Ibadan, the ancient city of Nigeria.
Oba Saliu was died due to some illness and his death was confirmed by palace sources to BlendNg News reporter on Sunday 1,2022 at exactly an hour some minutes ago.

The Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji passed away just 22 days after another notable monarch in Oyo State, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, the Soun of Ogbomoso.
On August 26, 1928, Oba Saliu Adetunji was born into the family of Raji Olayiwola and Suwebat Amope Adetunji at the Alusekere complex, Popoyemoja, Ibadan, and was named the 41st Olubadan on March 4, 2016, and crowned by former Oyo State Governor Sen. Abiola Ajimobi

Following the death of Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade, Adetunji was crowned Olubadan.
He was the first of his parents’ 17 children.
He learned technical skills as a child before deciding to make a living as a fashion designer after relocating to Lagos.
Oba Saliu Adetunji ventured into musical record marketing while working as a fashion designer until 1960 when he launched the first of three record label labels called Baba Laje Records, which featured prominent Fuji music groups such as Dauda Epo-Akara and Wasiu Ayinde Marshall.
Adetunji was the Balogun of Ibadan land before to his coronation as the Olubadan of Ibadan.
